Reeking of domesticity

There's nothing more domestic (or better smelling) than that of homemade bread. Well, for a Single Girl on a time crunch, Hodgson Mill's 9 Grain Bread Mix makes this possible but in less time. In just 3 hours, this hearty mix filled with soy, milled flax seed, oats, rye, barley, corn, and other grains touched with brown sugar and molasses is on the table and ready to enjoy hot from the oven. You don't have to be a culinary expert to make this bread, just follow the detailed instructions on the back and you're good to go. The mix comes ready to go with yeast and all - just add water and butter. So if you're ready to enjoy bread straight from the oven instead of a plastic bag, you can't go wrong with Hodgson Mill.

Here are some pictures of my journey to an apartment that reeked of domesticity:

In one bowl, the yeast is prepping while in another, 2 tsp of butter has been cut thoroughly into the mix.

After kneading for five minutes, form into small ball and place into greased bowl.

Lookin' good - dough ball has doubled in size after being covered with damp towel for 1 1/2 hours. I can almost taste it now...

Closer still - dough has been formed into loaf shape and is in pre-greased loaf pan, awaiting the second rise.

Ready to bake! Nicely above the surface of the pan, bread is placed in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.

Brushed with butter on top, this 9 grain loaf is hot and ready to enjoy - and enjoy I did! Great with butter and jam straight out of the oven.
